Samdruptse Monastery is situated 5 km from Namchi and is one of the most worshipped religious sanctuaries in Sikkim. It gloats of present day architecture and design, and is one of the best parts of the monastery.

Roosted at an elevation of 2134 m (7000 feet), Samdruptse Monastery Namchi has a goliath sculpture of Guru Padmasambhava that overlooks the whole city. Plated with gold, the sculpture looks shockingly beautiful when the lights fall on it. In the nearby Sikkimese language called Bhutia, 'Samdruptse' signifies 'The Wish-Fulfilling Hill'. This is one of the principal explanations behind this religious community's ubiquity among fans and vacationers.
